South Dakota Approves New Mountain Lion Season

“Big cats will be in the sights of big game hunters again this fall in South Dakota. The Game, Fish and Parks Commission approved a second hunting season for mountain lions. It will run from Nov. 1 through Dec. 31. The overall limit will be 25 lions or eight females, whichever comes first. Under the new rules, if hunters spot two lions together, neither can be killed. That new stipulation is designed to prevent the killing of nursing females with kittens. (« More »)

CA Seeks to Identify Guns

The California legislature is moving forward with Assembly Bill 352 which would require the micro stamping of cartridges / cases to identify the make, model and serial number of the handgun which fired the piece of ammunition. It also allows the Attorney General to adopt regulations to require bullet serialization. (« More »)
